BC New Housing Action Plan delivers more homes for people, faster
On Monday, Premier David Eby and B.C. Housing Minister Ravi Kahlon released the newest action plan to tackle the current BC housing issues.
The 【Homes for People】plan is a new housing plan in British Columbia that aims to speed up the delivery of new homes, increase the supply of middle-income housing, fight speculation, and help those who need it the most.
The plan includes actions such as
– building more middle-income small-scale, multi-unit housing
– offering forgivable loans for homeowners to build and rent secondary suites below market rates
– providing an annual income-tested tax credit of up to $400 per year for renters
The government is committed to investing $12 billion over the next ten years to deliver more homes for people, faster.

計劃中最廣泛舉措之一是省政府利用其對市政府的權力來改變分區，允許BC省獨立屋土地上最多可建四個單元。這樣做的目的是為了促進聯排別墅、複式別墅和三層公寓的發展，為房主提供財政支持，幫助他們支付裝修費用。
BC省府還將推出一個新的公共住房計劃，專門為中等收入家庭建造可負擔住房。
除了行動計劃以外, 新的建設計劃也包括在主要公共交通樞紐附近購買土地，在未來10到15年內建造多達1萬套住房。為了加快房屋供應，BC省將研究有助於緩解建築業勞動力短缺的政策。
政府承諾在未來十年投資120億加元，以更快的速度為BC省民提供更多的住房。
